Under overcast skies and with the river swelling slowly from the morning rain 
96 craft gathered for the running of the St. George. The temperature was in the 40's 
eventually reaching the 50's.
After the race a special award was presented to Terry Wescott for his outstanding 
contribution to the racing community. One thing that was mentioned was that he 
often took on new paddlers got started in racing. I am one of those paddlers 
and I would like to say my special thanks to Terry.
