--Overall Flatwater Series Results now in.
--Hillary Alger & Jon Hill come up big on the Tour de Verona
--Eric McNett sets course record at Bragging Rights Race.
-- Ludwig takes the Messalonskee. McNett takes the Muddy Rudder.
--Mark & Asa Berry set course record in the West Grand.
--Jeff and Susannah Owen fastest on the Machias . . . Team Owen nipped Team Deighan (Bill and Angus) by a mere 7 seconds on in the Machias Whitewater Canoe Race held on Sunday, March 24. Full results here.
--River Runs Faster . . . Trevor McLean wins Kenduskeag for 7th time -- and with the fastest winning time in the last 3 years. Jeff Owen and Steve Woodard finish 3rd as first canoe. Full results here.
--Owen/Woodard team up to take the Sou . . . Their winning time of 55:54 was the fastest time on that river since 2009. Results of the downriver race as well as for the Sprint and Short Race can be found here.
--St. George River Race Results now in . . . Fred Ludwig (K-1) takes first overall; Aaron Cross and Dan Wagner have the fastest time in a canoe. Complete results here.
.--Return of the Sandy River Fun Run . . . sponsored by the Rec. Dept. at UMF, this "oldie but goodie" is back on May 7 of this year. See the Race Details page for more info.
--Registration Forms Now Available Online . . . Most of the spring races now have Race Registration Forms available to printed and either mailed or brought to the race. See the Race Details page.

--Boat Repair Session--Saturday, March 12, 3:00pm until done . . .

Come lend your elbow grease to our annual repair and outfitting session.  Hosted by Gary at the Dysart's workshop across from the restaurant.  The more the merrier, and bring your own boat/materials if you've got work that needs attention.
--PaddleSmart!  Friday and Saturday, March 19th and 20th . . .
MaCKRO will have a booth for both days and will do an outfitting workshop.
--Experienced Paddlers Needed . . .
25 Orono High students signed up to paddle this spring, doubling our record setting participation from last year.  A few of these kids will be able to paddle together right from the get go at the St. George, but many will need an adult with them for the first couple races.  So, if you're willing to paddle with a teenager, and haven't got one of your own, PLEASE consider helping out the Orono High GoActive! kids.  In particular, experienced paddlers are needed for the St. George clinic and race combination and for the Passy clinic and race combination.
--Registration Now Open . . . the Aroostook River Race, the Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race,.and the St. George River Race are among the races for which registration is now open. Note: The 30-mile Aroostook River Race now begins in Presque Isle and ends in Fort Fairfield -- just a dozen road miles away. This should make shuttling a snap!
--Site Updates . . . Recent site updates include updates on Flatwater Series (see # 1 and #5), and information on the Dead River WW Clinic on July 2, and additional information on the East Grand Adventure Race on May 14. The Contact page is now updated to reflect club officers for 2011.
.--Clinics Added to Race Schedule . . . New to whitewater racing? New to Midcoast Maine Rivers? You are in luck as MaCKRO has added clinics one day prior to the St. George, Passy, and Kenduskeag Stream Races. See the race schedule and detailed race schedule for more information.

--Corrections made to Race Schedule . . . The 2011 Race Schedule is updated to reflect the following: (1) the June 30th FW Series event will be on the Messalonskee in Waterville; (2) there are now two Championship events in the FW Series-- a "C2/K2 Championship" on the Aug. 4th, and "C1/K1 Championship" on the Aug. 18th

--2011 Race Season Approaches . . . The 2011 Maine canoe and kayak racing season kicks off on March 25 in Searsmont, Maine. The St. George River is typically among the first area rivers to ice out in early spring. The river combines flatwater and Class I, III, and III whitewater and is a great way to open up the season.
