Results for Chief Worumbo’s Androscoggin River Race, 9th Annual

178 paddlers& 3 dogs, in 144 boats---Ages 3 ( Arianna Ham) to 85 ( Paul Havenstein) farthest  from country of Poland and 4 states including California

The people came, the boats came and the rains came before it was all over.

To all the papers who are most interested in the fastest times, I would like to state that this is a race primarily for recreational and family paddlers. We do welcome the pro racers to participate, but they are all put into the same category, regardless of type of boat , number of paddlers in the boats, and gender. Most often , these paddlers  have the fastest times. I would ask that you include the fastest times in the others ten recreational  categories and not limit the “winners” to just the pro category. We are striving to get families to recreate on the rivers of our state, and it seems to be working with this race. Please help us to promote this type of fun for everyone . We had many  family groups of  as many as 14 in one family  in the race this year and we hope to see even more families joining the fun next year. Thank you.
